Twice in a his letters, Paul gives a very compelling message to New Testament churches.
Galatians 6:9 So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good
2 Thess 3:13 And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.
It’s amazing how one good deed can make someone else’s day glow. It’s beautiful how going out of our way to do good can help make the world a better place. But it can be frustrating when, despite all the good deed we do, things just don’t seem to get any better; or people just take our good deeds for granted; or we even get criticized for doing good.
Paul’s encouragement comes in handy in those situations. Don’t get tired of doing good, he says.
At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit!
So, here’s a quick thought for your Thursday evening. When you feel like you’re about to just give up on doing good, remember… twice, Paul encourages you not to give up!
Good has a way of coming around. It might take some time, and sometimes, it might never come around at all… No matter what, don’t give up doing good. Good always pays!
